5 Delicious Baby Food Recipes For Winter

Winter is coming, and it is important that babies get the food that is full of vitamins, minerals, fibers and also keep them warm and cozy. We have compiled a list of 5 most likable soup recipes for babies which are suitable for winter season.

 Squash Mashup

Mixture of butternut squash, acorn squash and yellow squash with sweet potato and Italian seasoning.

Ingredients:

  • 5 small cubes Butternut Squash
  • 5 small cubes Acorn Squash
  • 5 small cubes Yellow Squash
  • 4 small cubes of sweet potato
  • ½ cup water
  • Sprinkle of Italian seasoning.

Steps:

  • In a pot, put diced squashes and sweet potatoes along with Italian seasoning and water.
  • Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Run through processor and serve.

Sweet Potato with Pears

Sweet potato combined with pear and added cinnamon powder for seasoning.

Ingredients:

  • 5 small cubes of sweet potatoes
  • 1 chopped pear
  • ½ cup water
  • Sprinkle cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a pot, put diced sweet potatoes and chopped pear along with cinnamon seasoning and water.
  • Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Run through processor once cool down and serve.

Apple, Carrot and Raisin mix

Puree of apple, carrot and raisin has lot of fibers and can be a good meal for babies with tommy troubles.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Apple (preferable red delicious or gala)
  • 5 small carrots
  • 1 tablespoon of black raisins
  • ½ cup water

Steps:

  • In a pot, put diced and peeled apple, carrot and water.
  • Cook until tender.
  • Add raisins when it’s about to get cooked
  • Once raisins get plump and apple, carrot get tender take off the stove.
  • Run through processor once cool down and serve.

Carrot and Potato soup

Meal in itself, this soup is perfect for babies 1 year or older

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium size carrot
  • 1 small potato (peeled)
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • Some cumin powder
  • Dries oregano
  • 1 cup veg/chicken broth
  • 1.2 tablespoon butter
  • Salt per taste

Steps:

  • In a pot, add butter, bay leaf, garlic cloves, oregano and cumin powder.
  • Add carrots, potatoes and celery
  • Sautee for some time then add broth.
  • Let it boil and then reduce heat until vegetables are tender.
  • Get rid of bay leaf.
  • Churn soup using either food processor or hand blender
  • Serve hot.

Acorn Squash with Apple

Acorn Squash with Apple and flavored with cinnamon powder is perfect for kids 6 months and above

Ingredients:

  • 5 small cubes of Acorn squash
  • ½ medium apple (red delicious or gala)
  • ½ cup water
  • Sprinkle cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a pot, put diced acorn squash and diced apple along with cinnamon seasoning and water.
  • Cook for 10 minutes. Cook more until its cooked well.
  • Run through processor once cool down and serve.
