Cough Remedies for Babies and Toddlers in Cold Weather

When you get cough and cold, you might reach for over the counter drugs to ease the symptom and get some relief. But you should not do the same for toddlers because cold and cough medicines that are safe for grown ups are not safe for the younger ones infact they can be life threatening as well. So its better to prefer home remedies because they are natural without any additional acid and salts which we are not sure how will impact the body of the young one.
Honey
Studies have confirmed that honey is better than any medicine to cure cough and helping a sick toddlers by soothing and put them to sleep. Note that honey should only be given to the kids of age 1 year or older. Kids will happily take the honey as it tastes good and kids in general are attracted towards food that tastes sweet. Give a half spoon to kids of age 1-5 years and 1 spoon to 6 and above. Any type is honey is good enough as they are natural but dark honey such as buck wheat may work best due to the higher antioxidants level.
Chicken Soup
